Collective Futures
is a six-week, citywide project activating Philadelphia’s network of artist-run spaces, DIY venues, and community-based initiatives. This collaboratively organized project bringing together more than 30 independent spaces and organizations, Collective Futures will unfold across the city through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and public programs from Kensington and North Chinatown to West Philadelphia, Fishtown, and Old City, between October 2 and November 15, 2026.

At its core, Collective Futures centers collective practice as a vital mode of cultural production. Across disciplines and contexts, the project highlights how artists come together to build shared platforms, experiment with new forms, and sustain creative communities.

Taking place during the 250th anniversary of the so-called United States, while many institutions in Philadelphia conjure programming around the complex histories of nation-building and democracy, Collective Futures highlights the artistic experimentation and alternative models that grassroots cultural spaces have long been building

Collective Futures is grounded in the specific conditions of Philadelphia, where a rich ecosystem of artist-run and DIY spaces has made collaborative cultural production possible. As rising costs and development reshape the city, the project affirms the importance of collective cultural life and the infrastructures that sustain it, so that our work can mobilize resources, deepen connections, and envision transformative futures.

Paradigm Gallery + Studio

Motley Multiples, curated by Dennis McNett, returns to Paradigm Gallery + Studio this November. Following the success of its inaugural exhibition in 2023, the team reunites to present an all-new second installment featuring fresh work in a new iteration of the collaborative project.

Opening Reception: Friday, November 6, 2026, 6-8pm (First Friday, Old City) 

Motley Multiples showcases the work of a diverse selection of contemporary printmakers from around the world.

Printmaking as an art form has magnetic, inspirational power; attracting a unique crowd united in their obsession by the intoxicating smell of an inky slab, the undeniable allure of an ornate, antiquarian printing press still operated by a hand-crank, and the seductive tactility of a freshly torn stack of handmade, deckled edge paper.

The artists selected for this exhibition are all artists that excel at their craft; artists who fully harness the collaborative and transformative potential of this community-oriented art form. This is a display of masterfully cut woodblocks, expertly drawn lithographic stones, and meticulously worked copper plates printed in exquisite and unique multiples. In this modern world of quick digital ephemera and slapdash AI, witness for yourself the rich, tactile superiority of these handcrafted works on paper.

About Paradigm

Paradigm Gallery + Studio was established in 2010 by co-founders and curators, Jason Chen and Sara McCorriston. The gallery exhibits meaningful, process-intense contemporary artwork by emerging and mid-career artists from around the world. In 2022, Paradigm announced the opening of its new 5-story, 7,000 sq. ft. home, The Paradigm Arts Building, in Old City, Philadelphia. Now open to the public, the building boasts multiple floors of exhibition space, integrated in-house design and printmaking, a dedicated events floor, and art advisory offices. With this, Chen and McCorriston expanded their vision for the greater Philadelphia arts community. The gallery is at the heart of this vision, anchoring Paradigm’s overall mission of increasing access to the commercial art world, supporting artists and advancing their careers, and collaborating with like-minded partners to build a more equitable, sustainable arts economy for all.
